State v. Bobbie mcMullin

We had a pretty good jury verdict a month or two ago -- in State v. Bobbie McMullin, from the 2nd Judicial District of New Mexico. Client was accused of full blown prostitution ring -- the U.S. Secret Service testified during trial. We started with 15 felony counts -- the judge transferred two conspiracy counts to a later, second, 152 count felony indictment arising from the same business activities. Client will certainly get at least a new trial, after being acquitted on four of the 13 remaining felony counts. The Secret Service showed up for the verdict -- only to see their pet count of Forging ID's acquitted by the jury. The gounds for either a new trial or outright dismissal: just three days before trial -- the state finally turned over to the defense -- by the judge's order -- the computer disk containing all of clients business data -- some 60,000 pages of data -- containing the names of any potential witness we could have tried to call at trial. Client should also be acquitted, or get dismissal on his upcoming 152 felony count trial -- set to begin in early December. The grounds will be that -- after the state finally turned over all of the computer data, and video copies of police sting operations in local hotels -- we were able to uncover police entrapment -- lying under oath at trial, etc. Stay tuned!
